Das perfekte Handwerk der Haute Couture und das der akademischen Malerei mischen sich mit der Rauheit und der kreativen ungestümen Respektlosigkeit der Strasse. Es vermischen sich Kreativität, technische Perfektion und respektlose Neudefinitionen von Stil und Handwerk.

Eine neue Generation von Designern respektiert keinerlei anachronistische gesellschaftliche Grenzen. Traditionen aus der Geschichte der Haute Couture und des Schneiderhandwerks werden komplett neu gedacht. Geschlechterzuordnungen und Machtpositionen, die sich durch Kleidung ausdrücken, werden neu gedacht. Modetheorie und Stilzitate wurden aus den Kleidertraditionen geerbt, dann aber vergessen und daraus etwas komplett Neues geschaffen. Das Gefühl der Eleganz wird neu definiert und alle Barrieren von Klassen und Kategorien aufgelöst.
